July in Venice and the unmissable Celebration of Redentore: 14th- 16th July 2023!

The Festa del Redentore is an event loved by the Venetians and represents the summertime in the lagoon city.
A mix of sacred and profane: fireworks, beach parties, music, pilgrimage and regattas are the main symbols. of this event, which is held in Venice the third Sunday of July.
The Redentore was celebrated as a feast day to give thanks for the end of the terrible plague of 1576,
which killed 50,000 people.
On Saturday, the eve of the festival, the Venetians usually build a bridge of barges connecting Giudecca to the rest of Venice and it allows to reach the church of Redentore on foot.
On 15th July 1989, during the Festa del Redentore, the famous Pink Floyd concert was held here in Venice, it was considered one of the most extraordinary and controversial rock concerts ever played in Italy at the presence of 200,000 spectators positioned on the banks and boats of the St. Mark’s basin.
